PDF Splitter Tool
Split a PDF in the browser: pull out a page range, save every page as its own file, or divide the document into chunks. pdf-lib does the work locally, so the file is not uploaded to Toolzy. Very large files can still use a lot of memory in the tab. You need a PDF you are allowed to modify.
How to use the PDF Splitter Tool
- Open the PDF. Choose the file. If it is password-protected, unlock it with the password remover first, using a password you already know.
- Choose the split. Extract specific pages, split every N pages, or separate the whole file. Page numbers follow the PDF’s page order, which may not match a printed footer.
- Download the pieces. Check the first and last page of each piece. A range that is off by one is the usual mistake.
When it helps
- Send one section. Pull the signed signature page or a single chapter instead of emailing the whole document.
- Break up a scan. A stack of scanned invoices in one PDF can be split into one file per invoice before data entry.
Common questions
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. Splitting runs in your browser. The practical limit is how much memory the tab can use.
Can it split a password-protected file?
Not until the file can be opened. Remove the password with the password you were given, then split the unlocked copy.
Will bookmarks and forms survive?
You get new PDF files with the selected pages. Interactive forms and the original outline may not carry over unchanged.
Does this compress the PDF?
No. It copies pages into new documents. File size drops only because you kept fewer pages.
