Svg to Jsx Converter
React wants SVG attributes in camelCase and a few renamed props, such as className instead of class. Paste an SVG and this converter rewrites it to JSX you can drop into a component. Review the output: scripts, event handlers, and external image hrefs are not a security review.
How to use the Svg to Jsx Converter
- Paste the SVG markup. Include the root <svg> element. Export from Figma or Illustrator as SVG, not as a PNG wrapped in HTML.
- Convert. Hyphenated attributes such as stroke-width become strokeWidth. Style strings stay as strings unless you later move them into a style object.
- Paste into a component. Give the component a name, add a viewBox if the export omitted one, and delete editor metadata you do not need.
When it helps
- Icon components. Turn a single-color icon into a component that inherits currentColor so it follows your text color.
- Illustrations in a design system. Keep complex artwork as JSX when you need to tweak a path in code review instead of shipping another image request.
Common questions
Why did class break my React build?
class is reserved in JSX. The converter renames it to className. If you still see class, the input was not converted or it sat inside a string.
Will animations and <style> blocks survive?
Markup is rewritten, not executed. CSS inside the file is left for you to check. Prefer currentColor and Tailwind classes for simple icons.
Should I inline every SVG?
Inline small icons. Large illustrations add weight to the JavaScript bundle. For those, use an <img> or the SVG to PNG tool.
Does this optimize paths?
No. It only adapts syntax for JSX. Run SVGO or a similar optimizer first if the export is bloated.
